Glencoe Software believes that all scientific images are data. In the world of high-performance light microscopy and high-content analysis, images are quantitative measurements and used for analytic calculations. Glencoe Software provides the server infrastructures to enable large-scale, high-throughput analysis and visualization of image data.

Glencoe Software was founded in late 2005 to provide data management tools for biological light microscopy and high content assays. We are the commercial arm of the Open Microscopy Environment and provide commercial licenses, support, and customization for OME's software tools. OME's OMERO platform is built on the foundation of the OME Data Model and provides data management support for these critical applications. OME's Bio-Formats file translation library is the most comprehensive scientific image file format translator available. Glencoe Software's growing list of customers use OME technology to advance their imaging technology to the next level.

Jason Swedlow, President, is one of the founders of Glencoe Software. He is a world-renowned expert on biological imaging and Professor of Quantitative Cell Biology at the University of Dundee and one of the founders of the Open Microscopy Environment.

Peter Sorger, one of the founders of Glencoe Software, and Gaudenz Danuser are members of Board and well known for their work on biological imaging. Both are Professors at Harvard Medical School. Joseph Victor, CEO of Applied Precision, rounds out the Board of Directors.
