Our mission is to make great software for biological imaging. Our products focus on data-intensive research bio-imaging, high-performance light microscopy and high content assays. Our first product is the Glencoe Data Management Engine, the first integrated data server for research bioimaging.

Glencoe Software believes that all scientific images are data. In the world of high-performance light microscopy and high-content analysis, images are quantitative measurements and used for analystic calculations. Glencoe Software provides the server infrastrcutures to enable large-scale, high-throughput analysis and visualization of image data.

Glencoe Software was founded in late 2005 to provide data management tools for biological light microscopy and high content assays. Our server technology is built on the foundation of the OME Data Model and provides data management support for these critical applications.

Jason Swedlow, President, is one of the founders of Glencoe Software. He is a world-renowned expert on biological imaging and Professor and Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow at the University of Dundee and one of the founders of the Open Microscopy Environment.

Peter Sorger, one of the founders of Glencoe Software, and Gaudenz Danuser are members of Board and well known for their work on biological imaging. Both are Professors at Harvard Medical School. Joseph Victor, CEO of Applied Precision, rounds out the Board of Directors.
