Python Software Developer

Glencoe Software is looking for vibrant, thoughtful and motivated software development personalities to work on our various Python based projects including:

Python web framework (TurboGears)
Python bindings to C/C++ libraries
Distributed programming with Twisted and Ice for Python

Requirements

Excellent skills with Python
Pythonic design knowledge and expertise
Experience with database-driven application design and data modeling
Excellent object-oriented, aspect-oriented and meta programming skills
Experience with Python on Windows XP
Strong collaborative skills with an eye towards efficiency and creativity

Pluses

C, C++ and Java programming experience
Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL
Experience with JBoss and Tomcat
Experience with Python on Linux, Mac OS X or any proprietary UNIX flavour
Experience with distributed systems programming using CORBA, ICE, SOAP or other distributed middleware technology

as well as interact with biologists internationally who are engaged in basic biological discovery using time-lapse imaging of cellular dynamics.

This is a full-time position and the candidate will be expected to be able to work remotely. Geographical location is not an issue. Code samples should be submitted if at all possible.
