Glencoe Software is pleased to announce the release of PathViewer 3.13.0. This release focuses on increasing user flexibility to configure annotation workflows, as well as providing significant maintenance improvements to enhance user experience.

Controlled Annotation Workflows

PathViewer 3.13 builds on the on-going work highlighted in PathViewer releases 3.5 and 3.11 on controlled annotation (ROI drawing) workflows.

Enforcing Pre-Defined Styles

ROIs in PathViewer can be styled with a preferred name, label, color, and other properties. These styles can be pre-defined for quick selection during an annotation workflow. It is now possible to prevent restyling ROIs with pre-defined styles enabled. By configuring this feature, ROI styles are standardized to ensure consistency across users and projects. Use pre-defined styles to streamline annotation workflows or to define consistent classes of annotated features.

ROI Locking

Since PathViewer 3.11, ROIs can be locked to accidental edits. In PathViewer 3.13, it is now possible to configure whether locking happens automatically on image load, ROI draw, and/or ROI save.

Blind Annotation Mode Workflows

PathViewer supports a blinded annotation mode, and now this includes a configurable randomization of the order of images displayed in a collection.

Other Highlights

  • Better user notification when trying to export unsupported images.
  • Brightness slider on RGB (brightfield) images now reflects saved changes, even when reloading/refreshing the page.
  • Birds eye view now properly reflects image rotation, even when using a small rotation angle.
