Glencoe Software is pleased to announce the release of PathViewer 3.14.0. This release includes features for smoother annotation workflows and improved end-user guidance when loading and visualizing channels, ROIs and label images.
Keep invisible ROIs selected
When a selected ROI’s visibility is toggled off, the ROI now stays selected. You can continue to tweak the ROI’s style attributes or turn visibility back on. This small change removes a common point of friction and aligns the behavior of ROI visibility and locking controls.
Clearer channel-group guidance
Within the Viewing Options tab, you’ll now see:
- A warning if you try to save changes to a read-only channel group.
- More tooltips on channel and channel group hover when in greyscale mode to prompt enabling the “Render in Color” option.
Safeguard when loading very large ROI sets
If an image has more than 1,000 ROIs, you’ll get a warning before PathViewer loads them. You can proceed to view the image in read-only mode with ROIs disabled, or continue to load the ROIs at the risk of potential browser instability. Bug fixes and maintenance
- Blind annotation mode options now apply correctly on first activation to resolve a bug where the mode needed to be activated twice.
- ROI text labels no longer flickers in an attempt to snap back to default position and colour while modifying an ROI’s name, colour, or other properties.
- Predefined styles now support line attributes for arrows, including arrows with a start point, an end point, or both.
- Unsupported label images are clearly marked with a red warning triangle in the ROI list with an explanatory tooltip, making issues easier to spot and remedy.
- Fixed an issue with small label images. This broadens compatibility with analysis outputs introduced around label image overlays in prior releases.
- Build and release maintenance to keep PathViewer current and secure.
