Glencoe Software is pleased to announce the latest release of OMERO Plus. This release brings new administrative capabilities for SSO and storage management, and it is shipped with the latest versions of PathViewer and Glencoe's Bio-Formats.

Single Sign-On Group Mapping

For OMERO Plus admins, integrating OMERO Plus with your organisation’s Identity Provider (IdP) just got easier. For those using OpenID Connect (OIDC), we have expanded IdP attribute mapping to include both user attributes and group membership.

OMERO Plus can now assign OMERO group membership based on your IdP’s claims. This means that when a user logs into OMERO Plus via SSO for the first time, they can be automatically added to the correct OMERO Group(s), reducing manual administrative overhead.

Both user attributes and group membership can be synchronized on each login or only on initial OMERO user creation.

Storage Management

For system administrators, managing storage and cleaning up orphaned files was made easier. The omero admin cleanse command has been improved with a new --subdirectory flag to target specific directories of the binary repository and improved the --dry-run mode making it much easier to review removal candidates before executing a cleanup.

OMERO.web and OMERO.server

This release of OMERO Plus includes all changes and updates to OMERO.server 5.6.17 and OMERO.web 5.31.0. Read the release notes here to learn more.
